Benefits of Capoeira Movement Training:
Come and explore capoeira with us for a feel good workout.
There are so many elements to explore in Capoeira, all of which we hope to introduce you to.
Our sessions focus on movement flow to capoeira music to develop new physical skills. For those who wish to do so, we practise soft acrobatics such as bridges and handstands. We also learn to play games in the respect of the tradition.
Music is at the heart of capoeira and encompasses singing and playing a range of instruments. We believe every players should learn to play the instruments to be able participate in a bateria during a roda.
With its origins in enslaved Brazil and its African roots, Capoeira has a rich history, many traditions and rituals to learn about. It also offers the unique opportunity to learn Portuguese.

This is a difficult question to answer and the best way is to come and see for yourself or ask a capoeira Master.
Mestre Pastinha once said: “ Capoeira é muito mais do que uma luta, capoeira é ritmo, é música, é malandragem, é poesia, é um jogo, é religião. (…) Capoeira é tudo que a boca come.” – Capoeira is much more than a fight,it is rythm, music, malandragen, poetry, a game, a religion (…). Capoeira is everything the mouth eats. –
Definitely. Hopefully the classes should help with your fitness. You might find it challenging at the beginning and may not be able to do all the exercises, but I will give you easier alternatives to ensure you take part in all the exercises.
There are no age limitations to practise Capoeira. We always stretch as warm up to prepare our bodies for the sessions and avoid injuries. This is particularly important when you are in your late forties or older.
Both men and women train with us. Our participants are mostly beginners, and intermediates.
Our classes are not children classes per se but children with previous capoeira experience are welcome to join. Beginner children above the age of 7 are also welcome. They will be learning some funs things, including cartwheels, arm balances and handstands
Yes definitely! It is the best way to find out if Capoeira is for you. We also regularly run 5-weeks discovery courses. Contact us to join.
We recommend comfortable, loose sportswear and trainers. In capoeira, you normally cover your shoulders and your legs. So please wear a T-Shirt that covers your shoulders and avoid crop tops or shorts.
After your trial session, just let us know your email address and we will send you a registration link.
Payment is via bank transfer only. You can either pay as you go at the end of the session. Alternatively, you can purchase a session card for 6 sessions upfront to be ticked off each time you come. (See our classes sections for pricing).
Once you embark, you will never stop learning.
I discovered Capoeira in 2016, watching a kid’s class and thinking : “I will never be able to do this at my age.”How wrong I was! Capoeira took me on an unexpected journey as I haven’t stopped training and playing since.
I am very grateful to have met so many truly inspiring Capoeira Mestres, Teachers and capoeristas; each one has helped me on my capoeira journey. I still have a lot to learn. If you join my sessions, you will hear about these Mestres and I will try to pass on what they have taught me.
What I find most interesting, is that Capoeira combines many elements (including movement, music, history, language ), making it a very rich activity with so much to learn.
Capoeira training is both physical and mental, combining elements of martial arts, fight, dance and music. My sessions aim to work flexibility, balance, strength, coordination, cognitive functions and movement flow whilst exploring our creativity and musicality (hopefully with a few surprises along the way).
I train with Treinel Lobinho (Angoleiros do Mar Oxford), so my sessions mostly focus on Capoeira Angola.
